Castello di Sammezzano : Leccio

This is a professionally guided  beautiful walk that is directly across from the Luxury outlet called The Mall.  We walk through the beautiful red wood forest with the giant Sequoias.  There are about 200 trees planted here and the oldest are from the  middle of XIX Century.  Sammezzano Castle,  belonged to one of the most important families of the Florentine aristocracy: the Panciatichi Ximenes d'Aragona. Made in the 19th century by the brilliant mind of Ferdinando, it has an interesting story, told in its rooms full of elaborate polychrome stuccoes, which echo charming oriental residences.  The castello is closed and only opens for a very short time in the spring.   

If you want to stay at The Mall and shop or have a lunch there are busses that go directly to SMN train station
