Family Saturday walk! Fiesole – Maiano – San Domenico

Description: Professionally guided waslk starting from Fiesole we walk through the park of Montececeri and by the interesting “latomia” quarry of pietra serena known as Cava Braschi. We also see where Leonardo made his attempt to fly. We then reach Maiano and from here we follow a scenic road on the slope of the hill, which takes us to he 15th century convent of San Domenico and then the even older Badia Fiesolana. Following the Via Vecchia Fiesolana with its many villas we go back to Fiesole

Length: 8.5 km

Terraine: Gravel, wood trails , pavement

Level: easy to moderate( uneven footing in woods and a few steep trails) 

What to bring: Back pack with Water and snacks.  Wear hiking boots/shoes if you have them. Bring poles if you use them. Dress in layers. 

Location: Meet at main piazza in Fiesole( car sharing is figured out on the private whatsapp chat of confirmed members) 

You can arrive by car and park on the surrounding streets or take number 7 bus from SMN and city center.
