Following the footsteps of Leonardo da Vinci

Description:  We start walking through the olive trees called the “green path” from  Anchiano and on to the

amazing Vallebuia (“the dark valley”), where we will admire the ruins of water mills. The Valley of Mills it’s on the slopes of Montalbano hill: its green and lush forest, the freshness of the stream, small villages, parish churches and the history of the area where Leonardo spent his childhood are the highlights of our day.  You will feel like you are immersed on his painting as the landscape is very familiar to a lot of his works. We will loop back to the parking lot where we met to start the walk.

What to Bring: Hiking boots, Backpack with water, snacks, walking poles, hat, scarf, gloves, dress in layers and for potential rain.  Dress warm as we will stop and talk about the history, you want to stay warm.  You can always take off and put on, but having that option is dressing for success! 

Transportation:  Drive to Vinci. ( about 45 minutes from Porta Romana in Florence) Exact spot given on chat to confimed participants.  On the chat we will figure out car pooling.
