Poggio della Pieve and Valle del Rimaggio
Description: this is an relatively easy and scenic walk through the hills around the main old religious centres of Bagno a Ripoli. From the parish church of San Pietro we follow the shady paths of the woods that cover the Poggio. Then we enter the valley of Rio Torto, characterized by the high number of villas, old case coloniche and case da signore. Later, in the valley of Rimaggio (the “main river”), we can understand how much the abundance of water here has shaped the economy of the area in the past. We can finally have a short break by the old parish church of Quarto before heading back to the starting point.
