About the Event
Come join us for a stroll through the Boboli with your family, friends, or on your own to explore the gardens through a different lense of a nature guide. A UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2013, in addition to being a true open-air museum with more than 300 classical, Renaissance and Baroque sculptures, the Boboli Gardens are home to an enormous botanical heritage. Its citrus collection is one of the most important in Europe. More than 3,000 tall plants can be found in its 30 hectares. This Italian-style garden ,commissioned by Eleanor of Toledo at the beginning of the 1500s, became a model for many European courts, including Versailles. Since then, the great families that have inhabited it - the Medici, the Lorraine, and the Savoy - have cared for its flowers, pathways, and groves. A walk through this wonderful park will introduce us to many interesting plants, with their anecdotes related to the history and architecture of the place.
