Semi-urban walk in commune of Firenze

Option 1: Linear walk from Bellosguardo to Galluzzo 9-12:30

Option 2: Loop walk 9-1:30 walk from Belloguardo to Galuzzo back to Florence through Porta Romana to Bellosguardo.

Walking on the hill of Bellosguardo, one of the most scenic hills above Florence, chosen by poets and artists of the past. Though all on paved roads, the feeling is of being suspended between the city and the countryside and makes you dream about aristocratic life here in the 19th century. End in Galluzzo.  For those who have more time and would like a loop walk, we will walk back to Florence Porta Romana.

Distance: 7km for the linear walk .  10-12km loop walk

Total climb :uphill 160m and downhill 140m

Terrain: Minor paved roads and some off road.

Level: Easy because of terrain but there are some hills to go up and down.

What to bring: snacks/ water bottle/ hat/sunglasses/ walking sticks

Extra info:For those of you staying in Galuzzo, you can stay and get a sandwich and sit on a bench and have lunch and those walking back to florence can do the same in Porta Romana. We can organise this through the private group of who’s going

Meeting point: Start: Piazza Paolo Uccello (Florence); End: Galluzzo (Florence) Or Porta Romana or Piazza Uccello depending on what option you choose.
