About the Event
Scandicci, between modern and old
Completely renovated by the modern architecture of the recently deceased Richard Rogers (known, among many other works, for the Pompidou Centre in Paris), lower Scandicci has become an important commercial and artistic center. We will also step back to the 14th century visiting the Castello dell'Acciaiolo. We will then walk through the quiet hills around the town, characterized by olive groves, patches of wood and ancient villas and we will reach Scandicci Alto, the oldest settlement of this area. Walking along the river Greve we will be back to our time for catching our tram.
