Walk and Learn! A Boutique Biological Farm

Calling all Families! 

Walk:  9:00-12:30Tour and Lunch: 12:30 - 15:00

Terrain: Forest/vineyards/paved road

Description: What we can see during our walk: Villa Machiavelli in Sant’Andrea in Percussina + Spedaletto (old hostel for pilgrims) + villa Mangiacane (Michelangelo’s project) + Villa Antinori del Cigliano 

Total elevation: +/- 300 mt

Terrain: Dirt roads, paths, few parts on asphalt

Level: easy/moderate

What to bring:Hiking boots, poles, Backpack, water, binoculars, snacks.

LA Member Highlight: Jill RomanelliJill moved to Italy in 2004 as an exchange student studying Anthropologie with the University of Oklahoma.  She was part of a group that was sent to Umbria for an archeology dig in Monte Rubiaglo.

Keen to get a job, she started working for a study abroad program. It was through this experience she realized what her talents and skill sets were and decided wedding planning was her future. After many attempts of getting a job with existing companies, she was continually turned away because she had no experience. That did not stop Jill… She jumped on a bike, drove around handing out flyers she had made and started teaching English to raise money to get a booth in a wedding planning conference.

Determined to succeed she got help from a friend for a photo shoot and a reel she presented at the fair.

At the end of the day, she sold 6 weddings and one very famous client that put her on the map!

After a steep learning curve and much success, she never looked back.  She loves what she does, making peoples dreams come true and supporting and working with some very talented people and companies in Tuscany.

Jill no longer needs to go to wedding fairs and has a thriving business

Jill's background and love for nature, culture and learning, has naturally lead her to LA and she has been a tremendous supporter.  She finds the space in nature with woman a very peaceful place and loves connecting with new people and learning about the topography, flora ,fauna  and history.

THE EVENT:

Our adventure on May 10th is designed by Jill.  She met one of the owners, Marta ,through a very cool all woman catering company and instantly saw that she and her place was very special.

After a lovely dinner in the vineyards at La Pia overlooking the duomo, she fell in love.  We are delighted she has introduced us to this special boutique biological farm.

We are really looking forward to introducing you to Marta, her vision, her amazing culinary talents and more about biological farming.

We start and end our lovely walk from La Pia followed by for a tour and a sit-down lunch, with tastings of olive oil and wine, paired with a lovely lunch.
